After sailing through the first three quarters of the season, Arsenal now find themselves behind in the title race - and I mean really behind.
The Gunners have been dropping points left, right and centre in the Barclays Premier League and unnecessary ones at that.
In the games they should have won, they drew. When the pitch refuses to help their passing game, Arsenal struggle. When the opposition parks their team coach in front of the goal, Arsenal struggle. But when Manchester United struggle, they typically scrap out a win.
So it has been different for Man United. The Old Trafford outfit might say the League title is now theirs to lose. They have their noses in front and I have a feeling that it is a lead they will not relinquish. Sir Alex Ferguson’s team is not just a team capable of taking the game to their opponents, it’s also a team packed to the rafters with a wonderful never-say-die attitude.
But, if you were to ask me where it went right for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side, I would reply it was more a case of ‘where it went wrong for Arsenal’. How they have stumbled.
At the start of the season, Wenger’s kids threatened to run away with the title thanks to a number of impressive displays. Cesc Fabregas showed that he really has an old head on his young shoulders, while Emmanuel Adebayor was scoring goals for fun. Thierry Henry who?
But as the Gunners’ season progressed – especially after Wenger decided that the FA Cup was not to be a priority – Arsenal, in a flash, lost their early-season form.
Suddenly, you see heads being dropped after a goal has been conceded (or better yet, players storming to the other side of the pitch in protest!).
Put simply, this Arsenal side lacks leaders.
William Gallas is not the best example of a great leader. He may be good at what he does, but he is far from qualified to be Arsenal’s captain. They are crying out for a Tony Adams or a Patrick Vieira. Someone who can command respect both on and off the pitch. I ask you, is there any true leader in the Arsenal team right now?
By way of contrast, Man United are a team full of leaders. When fit and picked, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville and even Wayne Rooney are leaders. They help inspire the team; they play on even when the chips are down. They can be depended on to carry on the fight to the opposition.
That’s why the Red Devils continue winning. That’s how they can scrap results even when they play like your typical Sunday pub team. Man United can, and do, continually grind out results.
The lack of leaders at Arsenal will probably cost them the title and the failure to find them in the coming seasons will be disastrous for the Gunners. Until that is rectified, Arsenal will remain just what we have been calling them all along – ‘Wenger’s kids’.

PS - watever is above is not my handiwork .. it's frm the blog of Steve Mcmahon .. and i have to say i agree with him 100% .. the kids of the gonners just dont have what it takes to compete with the heros of the Red Devils .. over the course of a season, they just have run out of steam ..
in a nutshell, ARSENAL, U GUYS SUCK !! MAN UTD RULZ !!! hahahahaha !!
